YOUR APPOINTMENT GUIDE
Info on arrival, parking and what to expect from your appointment, please have a good read through before you come.
Arriving
-
Please arrive on time as this means we can make the most of your appointment. If you think you may be running late please text me. If you arrive early I may still be with another client and you may have to wait for a little while so please try to arrive exactly on time.
-
Parking is available on the front drive on Fridays and Saturdays, please do not block anyone in whilst parking. There are plenty of street parking spots usually down the side of the property or around the surrounding area.
-
When you arrive please send me a text or a Direct message on Instagram, or call me on my work phone number on 07443829229, to let me know you've arrived. please do not ring the main door bell to the house as my studio is based in the garden and I may not hear you arrive.
-
Please meet me towards the back of the property at the orange/brown and black side gate located in the picture below.

When You Arrive
-
When you arrive you'll be led through to the garden where my studio is located.
-
We'll then start the nail consultation which is where we go through your nail goals and we'll determine what your nail needs are. Please let me know at this point if you have any allergies to any nail products or foods (Hema, latex, nut allergies) as I can tailor the appointment to these needs.
During Your Appointment
-
As I'm working on your hands please keep them relaxed and let me support and guide your hand as needed. please also avoid moving hands suddenly as this helps me to work safely and neatly. If you have any conditions that make it painful to move your hands as much or have less flexibility please let me know so I can adjust to accommodate you.
-
Please try to limit your phone usage during your appointment, feel free to watch a video and have it stood up or call a friend by all means, but using your phone means your other hand is also moving with makes it a lot harder to work or paint artwork.
-
Please avoid touching your hair, face , clothing or skin during your nail appointment. Touching things during your appointment can lead to fluff and oils sticking to your nails, this can lead to early service breakdown or lint can affect the finish.
-
please speak up, I try my best to keep the appointment comfortable but if your feeling any discomfort, weather that's filing, heat spikes during gel curing, or colour choice please let me know so we can adjust. I'll also make sure to check in with you throughout your appointment so please don't feel nervous about speaking up.
What We Can Talk About
- I love having a good chat and a laugh while doing your nails! Jokes and conversation, or discussion are always welcome, I'm not shy so you don’t have to filter every word. However, some subjects are better suited for a therapist or a private support space and are not appropriate for your nail appointment. Please keep our chats respectful and appropriate so we can both enjoy your appointment.
- If you’d prefer a quiet appointment to relax, I offer silent appointments with only essential check-ins about hand positions and your nails. Just let me know at the start if you’d like a silent appointment – no awkwardness, it’s completely okay!
Payment & Rebooking
- Payment is due at the end of your appointment. Please make sure you are able to pay in either cash or bank transfer. Please bring the right change where possible when paying in cash.
- After your appointment you can rebook before leaving your appointment or you can do so online at a later point.
Nail Aftercare
- Avoid heat and steam for the first 24 hours, your nails continue to cure for 24 hours after your appointment so avoiding baths, saunas and washing up immediately after will prevent your nails from lifting.
- Harsh chemicals and long water exposure can cause your nails to lift or breakdown early. Always wear gloves when cleaning, washing up or using cleaning sprays.
- please don't pick or peel nails off, this takes layers of natural nails off with the enhancement and thins the natural nail, this also means I may not be able to work on top of the nails if they are damaged.
- Nails are not indestructible, even though with any nail enhancement your nails will feel stronger they are not to be used as tools, don't use them to open cans, scratch stickers off, typing, or pry things open. This directly leads to lifting or breakages.
- Use cuticle oil daily, cuticle oil helps keep your nails and the surrounding skin hydrated. cuticle oil helps to stop gel, BIAB or acrylic nail enhancements lifting, and keeps the cuticle area hydrated.
- Lifting of gel, BIAB or Acrylic nail enhancements from the natural nail can mean water and dirt can be trapped, this can eventually lead to bacterial or fungal infections of the nail plate. If there is lifting present on the nail, please try to keep the area clean and dry, use cuticle oil and book an appointment for a nail repair or an infill as soon as possible.
Nail Maintenance
- I know it can be tempting to leave your gel, BIAB or acrylic nails as long as possible, but they do need regular upkeep to stay healthy and looking their best. Please book an infill every 2–4 weeks, or a rebalance at 5 weeks at the latest. Leaving your nails too long between appointments can lead to breaks and infections of the nail plate due to lifting of product, which can damage your natural nails. Keeping on top of your maintenance helps protect your natural nails.
